Case Study: Park Inn UK (Multiple Sites)
Park Inn commissioned Cross Refrigeration as a design and build contractor to retro fit a number of hotels with VRF Heat Recovery air conditioning equipment to the bedrooms. The hotel public areas have required substantial modernisation during the refit process.
The work had to be carried out in live hotels where residents were present on a daily basis; health and safety of residents, staff and contractors being of paramount importance and at the top of the agenda of all the project team.
The bedrooms generally have been fitted with Toshiba Heat Recovery VRF equipment providing the residents with simultaneous heating or cooling on demand using slim ducted fan coil units; these units are whisper quiet in their operation. Each bedroom is fitted with bespoke grilles as the method of air distribution and fitted with a simplified bedroom temperature controller.
Great care has been taken to position the outdoor plant as sensitively as possible to ensure least impact on the aesthetics of the buildings and the local environment.
The Toshiba centralised controls package is a PC based system which is used to override room controllers and allows hotel management to set and adjust predetermined parameters in the bedrooms.
The air conditioning in the hotels public areas have required substantial modernisation with Toshiba splits being used in many cases as a simple and cost effective solution, also DX cooling to existing air handling units, chillers and packaged air conditioning plant have been installed where deemed suitable.
Cross Refrigeration have been responsible for the entire installations involving minor mechanical works as well as providing our own building attendances.
