BACKGROUND

CHALLENGE
Walsin Ltd factory for the production of aluminium glazing systems in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. The factory area was 2,500 m2, 7.0m high, and required a heating solution (set point 16°C). The factory had limited available floor space available and high level gantry cranes. Walsin also had a strict budget for installation and lifecycle costs. This project was openly tendered against competing diffusion solutions.
Solution
Sintra Pulsion® – A unique, patented temperature control solution, ideal for engineering factories and workshops. The bespoke designed Pulsers® set the total air mass in controlled motion. Temperature is homogenised and consistent throughout the entire workspace area. Air is filtered and VOCs and weld fumes are removed. Total temperature control with fresh air and free cooling (when available). Bespoke design and non-disruptive installation by Cross Group (sole distributors UK & Ireland).
Outcome
A competitive solution as compared with other offers in an open tender competition. Accurate temperature control to ± 1 degree C. Excellent air quality for building occupants. Estimated 40% reduction in heating costs. No air draughts or thermal stratification. Stable and homogenous temperature environment for engineering factories
