Serverfield – Temperature Control Case Study

BACKGROUND

///

CHALLENGE

Severfield’s new painting facility for treatment of steel with intumescent paint. Stringent air quality requirement, due to particularly high levels of VOCs in the paint, which also affect drying times. Limited available space at high level due to mobile cranes. Strict budget and lifecycle costs. Openly tendered against competing diffusion / extraction solutions

OUTCOME

A competitive solution, as compared with other offers, in an open tender competition. The spraying area is comfortable for the occupants, with excellent air quality and VOCs managed to safe levels. Pulsers mounted at high level within steel roof trusses. Drying time for the intumescent paint has been reduced by half, meaning throughput has doubled. No draughts or thermal stratification
